The hike to Prest may be short, but it packs a punch with steep and airy sections that will get your heart racing. Start your journey by driving past the stunning Stegastein viewpoint above Aurland. Just beyond the Bjørgo farm, you’ll find parking and the trailhead. The well-marked trail begins with a gentle ascent toward Hovden before becoming steeper. As you approach Røyrgrindgjelet, the path turns thrillingly airy, with sheer drops down to the farms beneath Prest. The best views of the fjord landscape, Aurland, and Flåm are found at the cairn at 1,363 meters. For those seeking a longer adventure, continue to Blåskavlen at 1,809 meters, the highest peak in Aurland. This short but exhilarating hike starts just past the Stegastein viewpoint, with parking near Bjørgo farm.
